Basque citizens launch the biggest initiative a country does for its language: #Korrika. Hundreds of thousands participate in the biggest non-stop demostration over 11 days, 10 nights, 210 hours and 2.500 kilometres.

On thursday started the 22nd edition. The organizers insert in the baton a secret message that is read at the end of the festival. Different associations “buy” kilometres in support of the basque language and AEK, the organisation responsible for teaching the language to adults.
In certain areas it's an official language but not in most of the Basque territory. Korrika brings the whole territory together in a festive atmosphere.
#Korrika, as well as its organizer @AEK_eus, was created by the people themselves and takes place once every two years.
Half of the existing 7.000 languages will disappear this century. There is still a major work to do in order to normalize euskara.
With #Korrika, thousands will charge their energy to support their language, empower themselves and continue having their own vision of this world.
