Carles Puigdemont and Toni Comín denied access to European Parliament as MEPs (Cartes per la República)

Dear Mr./Mrs. XXXX (nom destinatari),
With regard to the troubling matter of Mr. Puigdemont and Mr. Comín being unduly blocked from the European Parliament, for the acquisition of their rightful accreditation [1, 2]; here are my thoughts on the issue:
Why are Mr. Puigdemont and Mr. Comín attempts being hindered in taking up their elected seats in the European Parliament?
The essential step to become an MEP is to receive enough support from the electoral body. Catalans, who still believe the former representatives of the Catalan government were sacked illegitimately by the Spanish government on December 2017, understood this and delivered sufficient support towards Mr. Puigdemont and Mr. Comín, as representatives for the list Junts/Lliures per Europa.
On the other hand, Spain’s Supreme Court should now retract the national Spanish arrest warrant against Mr. Puigdemont and Mr. Comín as both enjoy MEP immunity, which the Supreme Court cannot interfere with.
In addition to this, the European Parliament President’s unofficial report denying Mr. Puigdemont immunity even if elected to the European Parliament unless sworn in by JEC (Junta Electoral Central) compromises the European parliament and is a disgrace for the institution as it was an external report signed by someone from outside the legal services of the European Parliament with a more than obvious conflict of interest in this matter. [3, 4]
We are facing a huge scandal: Mr. Puigdemont and Mr. Comín were voted for by more than one million people in Spain. The fact that they have not been able to enter the European Parliament to collect their accreditation as MEPs is an authoritarian measure and a perversion of the democratic process. Such a decision was made by the outgoing European Parliament’s President, Mr. Tajani, and its Secretary-General, Mr. Welle, both members of the conservative People’s Party block. [3]
I am myself one of the voters of Mr. Puigdemont’s list. Therefore, I demand my vote be respected. This is a serious violation of the Fundamental Rights of all EU citizens.
European Institutions must preserve democratic, political and civil rights above all. Denying access to a democratically elected MEP, whose eligibility to run was challenged but confirmed before the Spanish Judiciary, damages this democratic institution.
I demand on behalf of over 1 million European citizens that Mr. Puigdemont and Mr. Comín get accredited as Members of the European Parliament, failure to do so only emboldens eurosceptiscism.
Yours sincerely,
Xxxxxx (signatura de la persona que vol enviar la carta)
