Today marks the 75th anniversary of the start of the Nuremberg Trials. Twenty-two leaders of Nazi Germany were put on trial for crimes committed during World War II, including the Holocaust. #NeverForget
The German city of Nuremberg was chosen as it was considered the ceremonial heartland of the Nazi Party. The city had given its name to the racial Nuremberg Laws, antisemitic and racist legislation that barred Jews from German citizenship & marriage to Germans.
The Nazis’ highest authority, the person most to blame for the Holocaust, was missing at the trials. Adolf Hitler had committed suicide in the final days of the war, as had several of his closest aides.

Es va escollir la ciutat alemanya de Nuremberg, ja que es considerava el centre cerimonial del partit nazi. La ciutat havia donat el seu nom a les lleis racials de Nuremberg, legislacions antisemites i racistes que prohibien als jueus la ciutadania alemanya i el matrimoni amb alemanys.
La màxima autoritat dels nazis, la persona més culpable de l’Holocaust, va faltar als judicis. Adolf Hitler s’havia suïcidat els darrers dies de la guerra, igual que diversos dels seus ajudants més propers.
